Not happy – received a parking ticket?

Through using the Solicitor Search Network you can find a local solicitor who specialises in vehicle related legal problems such as “bad” (unfair) parking tickets and the level of fine and/or penalties imposed as a result.

Yes, we can all make a mistake but unfortunately all too often get caught out by the unfair practice of private companies, of which only a third belong to the British Parking Association (Massey 2010).  For example, it is “unfair” if signage is obscured by foliage or out of sight - hidden in some way so that a motorist could not easily see it.  If yellow lines have become worn or not replaced following road repairs then challenge any fine received.  Unfortunately for motorists there is a lot of money to be made by improper or bad conduct due to target driven pay of the clampers.

You don’t have to accept bad parking tickets – through using a solicitor you can launch a challenge to any bad parking ticket or clamping.  You should only do this where you know that you have been wronged or suspect that you are a victim of bad practice by traffic wardens or private company as otherwise you could simply be incurring further debt.  Do act straight away as you could loose your early payment discount and may find yourself having to pay up to 50% more. Your solicitor will discuss with you why you consider the parking ticket/fine to be unfair (bad) and the grounds you have to launch an appeal/challenge.  Whilst all motorists have the right to make a challenge against badly issued parking tickets irrespective of the issuer – whether it is the Police, local authority or a private concern research by the BBS shows only 1% do so.

By contacting a badparkingticket solicitor you could appeal to overturn a parking violation and be guided through the stages involved and probable outcomes.  If you find yourself in the unenviable position of accruing unpaid parking penalty debt then you might face the enforced collection of any parking penalties by appointed bailiffs which could amount to the seizure of your car.  Although this is a civil matter the police can become involved in assisting bailiffs should it become apparent that you are likely to cause a “breach of the peace” during the confiscation.  Check your rights.
